01What can a routine maintenance visit include?+
A standard routine visit includes recording the spa’s condition, water temperature, and water level; testing and adjusting sanitizer, pH, and total alkalinity; removing debris and cleaning the waterline; inspecting the filter and rinsing it when scheduled; visually checking the cover, controls, circulation, and accessible equipment; and documenting the completed visit with readings, notes, and time-stamped photos. Drain-and-refill service, filter deep cleaning or replacement, water recovery, repairs, and other work outside the routine checklist require separate approval and pricing.
02How often should a hot tub be serviced?+
A routinely used residential hot tub should have its water checked at least weekly and before use, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Weekly maintenance is our normal professional-service recommendation for primary homes, second homes, and short-term rentals because it provides consistent testing, balancing, cleaning, filter care, and condition tracking. Twice-monthly service is reserved for qualifying low-use private spas with stable water and a dependable plan for checks between visits; frequent use, guest turnover, or changing water conditions can require more frequent attention. Separate from routine visits, we generally recommend a complete plumbing purge, drain, shell and filter clean, refill, and start-up balance every one to three months—closer to monthly for heavy-use or rental spas and closer to three months for lighter use.
03Are chemicals included in the recurring plans?+
Standard balancing chemicals are included with recurring service where noted. Specialty products, unusually high chemical demand, plumbing purge products, replacement filters or parts, and products needed for significant water recovery are outside the routine plan and require customer approval before they are billed.
04Do you service short-term rental properties?+
Yes. Weekly care is our standard recurring option for qualifying short-term rentals. Guest-turnover checks, additional visits beyond the selected cadence, heavy-use recovery, and urgent scheduling are separate from the recurring plan and depend on route availability. We do not promise emergency or 24/7 response.
05Do I need to be at the property during service?+
Not when authorized access has been arranged and the spa and equipment area are safely accessible. We confirm the approved access process and designated property contact before service begins. Gate, alarm, and lockbox codes should not be entered in the website form; sensitive access details can be coordinated separately through an agreed secure method.
06What does the free on-site baseline inspection and personalized quote include?+
The complimentary visit reviews the spa’s visible condition, water condition, accessible equipment, service access, approximate volume, use pattern, and fit for a recurring plan. After the visit, we provide a personalized maintenance recommendation with the appropriate cadence, included scope, and a property-specific written quote. Repairs, drain-and-refill work, significant cleanup, and specialty treatment are not included unless separately approved.
07What happens if the water is not ready for use?+
We document the observed condition, complete approved maintenance steps that are appropriate within our scope, and promptly notify the designated property contact when the spa should remain unused pending recovery, retesting, or qualified repair. Significant contamination, persistent chemistry problems, or equipment concerns may require separately approved service or another qualified professional.
08How do service photos and reports work?+
Every completed service visit includes recorded readings, completed work, concise notes, and time-stamped photos showing the spa’s condition and completed maintenance. The report is sent to the owner or designated property contact and creates a useful history for the property without using service photos for advertising unless separate permission is provided.
09Do you perform repairs or installations?+
Not at this time. Maroon Creek Spa Care currently provides hot tub maintenance only. Repair, electrical, plumbing, gas, and installation work should be handled by appropriately qualified service professionals.
10How are additional services approved?+
We explain the recommended work, expected price, and reason it falls outside the recurring plan before proceeding. Drain-and-refill service, significant water recovery, extra visits, specialty products, filter replacement, and other non-routine work require approval from the owner or authorized property contact.
11Can you coordinate with a property manager?+
Yes. We can document access instructions, direct visit notes to the designated property contact, and keep our work focused on the spa-maintenance scope you approve.
